Women’s track & field lands 34 student-athletes on America East Honor Roll

Comments
VESTAL, N.Y.—The Binghamton women’s track & field team had a breakthrough year, as its third-place finish at the America East Outdoor Track Championships was its highest finish at a conference meet since 2002. In the classroom, the Bearcats were just as impressive. The America East has released its 2012 Spring Academic Honor Roll and the women’s track team posted 34 selections. Each athlete maintained at least a 3.0 during the Spring 2012 semester and 17 of them were also named to the America East Commissioner’s Honor Roll for maintaining at least a 3.5 GPA. Included among the Commissioner’s Honor Roll selections were Kaitlin Sullivan and Jessica Hennig, each of whom won individual titles at the America East Outdoor Meet last month. Alexis Murray and Ashley AuPont, both of whom earned all-conference honors, were also named to the Commissioner’s Honor Roll. Binghamton had seven of its all-conference selections also be named to the America East Honor Roll. Joining Sullivan, Hennig, Murray and AuPont were Rachel Miura, Jenna Marrione and Paige Ware. Fourteen different Binghamton runners were individual medalists at the America East Outdoor Championships and 12 of them were also named to the America East Honor Roll. Earlier in the spring, Sullivan, Hennig and Miura were named to the America East All-Academic Team.
