Doug Abeles '81 ran in the NCAA Championship Cross Country Meet (hosted by UR) in November, 1980. In the spring, he ran at the NY State Championships with a chance to qualify for nationals in the 10,000 Meter Run.

John Zabrodsky '82 who has a long affiliation with the men's cross country and track & field programs, will receive the Lysle "Spike" Garnish Memorial Citation Award.
Four individuals and the University of Rochester men's track and field team were honored for their academic work by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Thursday.
Noah Chartier, a recent University of Rochester graduate and member of the Yellowjackets men's track and field program, has been elected as a 1st Team Academic All-District selection in 2020.

Phi Beta Kappa, one of the countries oldest and most prestigious academic honor societies, released its 2020 inductees earlier this month, and a total of 14 members from UR athletic teams were selected.
A total of 89 spring student-athletes from the University of Rochester competing in the Liberty League were awarded All-Academic status from the conference as announced in a release on Tuesday.
