The Medgar Evers men's and women's track and field teams took part of the New Captains Classic, and were well represented during the two-day event at the Irwin Belk Track of Pomoco Stadium.

Despite being known as one of the fastest runners in all of the CUNYAC, Medgar Evers junior Sciancia Metelus (Petionville, Haiti) wants to take in her newest journey with great detail and will not want to rush through this trip.

For her outstanding performance this past week, Medgar Evers junior Charlena Mackey (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was named the CUNYAC Field Performer of the Week, as announced by the conference Tuesday afternoon.

The Medgar Evers men's and women's track and field teams opened up their 2016 season as they took part in the St. Joseph's (L.I.) Spring Opener last Friday and the Ramapo University Invitational Friday night.
